Zinc x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) data and speciation modelling by linear combination fitting (LCF) with standard spectra
Soil samples were collected from the remediated site according to methods included in the manuscript. Soil samples were prepared by grinding in mortar and pestle and pressing into a 7-mm diameter pellet for X-ray absorption measurement. Sample pellets were measured at Argonne National Laboratory's Advanced Photon Source (APS) in Chicago, IL. X-ray fluorescence was collected while scanning x-ray energy belowe and above the Zinc (Zn) K-edge (9659 eV). Spectra were energy calibrated, background subtracted and spectra modelled in the Athena module of the Demeter software package. Linear combination of standard spectra of Zn species were used to model sample spectra. Model data is in this attached dataset.
