Volume transport, vertical-mean velocity and profile data from the AOML Western Boundary Time Series/Florida Current Transport project since 1982
This collection includes daily mean and raw voltage volume transport data of the Florida Current collected with a submarine cable spanning from South Florida to the Grand Bahama Island in the Florida Strait, dissolved oxygen, dynamic height, hydrostatic pressure, neutral density, potential temperature (theta), salinity, and water temperature profile data from CTD, oxygen meter, and XBT casts collected in Coastal Waters of Florida, North Atlantic Ocean, and Straits of Florida on various cruises, as well as data from a free-falling "dropsonde" float making measurements of vertical-mean horizontal velocity in the Florida Current along 27°N. These data were collected by NOAA's Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) and Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL), and were submitted by AOML as part of the Atlantic Ocean Western Boundary Time Series (WBTS) / Florida Current Transport project.
