Utility Wind Project Size by County and State: 2018
<p></p><p>This map illustrates the variety of average project capacity
sizes across the United States and within the state of California, for wind
projects whose total nameplate capacity is greater than or equal to 1 MW (20 CCR
§ 1385). Average project capacity is a function of the statewide, or
countywide, nameplate capacity and number of projects within the defined area.
The absence of projects in the southeastern United States is arbitrable to low
average wind speeds (United States - Annual Average Wind Speed, AWS True power
and National Renewable Energy Lab), and insufficient hurricane-resistant
