Soil temperature at 4 centimeters depth for 120 point locations within limestone cedar glades at Stones River National Battlefield near Murfreesboro, Tennessee

This dataset represents data collected at 120 quadrat locations (points) within 12 selected cedar glades and contains measurements of soil temperature (at 4 centimeters depth) for each point. Measurements were obtained on the following dates (which correspond to the fields in the dataset): February 6t, 2012; March 5, 2012; April 2, 2012; April 23, 2012; May 25, 2012; June 21, 2012; July 19, 2012; August 23, 2012; September 27, 2012; November 5, 2012; December 17, 2012; January 21, 2013; February 18, 2013; March 19, 2013; April 15, 2013; and May 13, 2013. Points were classified into four groups (identified by the field "Group") and were visited on a rotating sampling schedule, such that each group of points was visited roughly once every four months. Soil temperature at 4 centimeters depth was measured using a Taylor 9842N waterproof digital thermometer (Taylor Inc., Oak Brook, IL, USA). Three soil temperature measurements were taken at each point (50-centimeter by 50-centimeter quadrat). Attribute values for each field represent the means of the three measurements. Missing values (points not measured on a given day) are indicated by the value -99999.Detailed descriptions of experimental design, field data collection procedures, laboratory procedures, and data analysis are presented in Cartwright (2014).References:Cartwright, J.
