NOTE, 2/28/2024: This dataset now contains locations of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), in addition to bleeding control kits. Locations of kits designed to assist City of Chicago employees and members of the public control severe bleeding or attempt to reverse cardiac arrest in emergency situations while waiting for first responders with more advanced equipment and training to arrive. <b>Always call 911 before locating and using either type of device.</b> The devices are placed in occupied buildings owned or leased by the City of Chicago, as part of the Safe Chicago project led by the Office of Emergency Management & Communications.
