Raw radio telemetry receiver data used to assess passage efficiency of Landlocked Atlantic salmon over the Willsboro cascades in the Boquet River, NY in 2020

Published by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: June 25, 2025 | Last Modified: 2024-07-25
Raw detection tabular data collected of text files from each receiver download in 2020 using Sigma Eight orion radio telemetry receivers positioned in the Boquet River, NY to assess landlocked Atlantic salmon passage efficiency over the Willsboro cascades. Each row constitutes data pertaining to a single detection of a radio transmission detected and recorded by the radio telemetry receiver. Receivers were programmed to scan and record detections on the 164.380 kHz and 164.480 kHz frequencies; cycling between each frequency every 5 seconds. Logged transmissions were then recorded to the receiver's SD card which was manually downloaded by staff between one and three times per week. Receivers were deployed and active between September 14th and December 31st in 2020. A history of receiver settings are also included in the associated .csv, .cfg, and .hex files.
