Paycheck Protection Program Liquidity Facility (PPPLF)
In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Board's emergency lending facilities have provided a critical backstop. The Board launched a centralized 13(3) Lending Facilities Data Repository on November 6, 2020 to bring together the emergency lending facilities data from different systems and databases. Data from the Paycheck Protection Program Lending Facility (PPPLF) is now available in the repository. The Paycheck Protection Program is a loan designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on the payroll.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) will forgive loans if all employee retention criteria are met, and the funds are used for eligible expenses. To bolster the effectiveness of the Small Business Administration's Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), the Federal Reserve is supplying liquidity to participating financial institutions through term financing backed by PPP loans to small businesses. The Paycheck Protection Program Liquidity Facility (PPPLF) will extend credit to eligible financial institutions that originate PPP loans, taking the loans as collateral at face value. The Federal Reserve Board ceased extending loans on July 30, 2021.
