Patent AT-E401836-T1: [Translated] PROSTHETIC KNITTED FABRIC WITH VARIABLE PROPERTIES

Published by National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) | U.S. Department of Health & Human Services | Metadata Last Checked: September 06, 2025 | Last Modified: 2025-09-06
The prosthetic strip (1) is made from layers of a material made from biocompatible polymer fibres with a central (2) and two lateral (3) zones, the central zone having a greater elasticity than the lateral zones. The prosthetic strip (1) is made from layers of a material made from biocompatible polymer fibres with a central (2) and two lateral (3) zones, the central zone having a greater elasticity than the lateral zones. It has at least two basic layers, one front and one rear, extending at least over the area of the central zone, and two supplementary layers that cover the back of the lateral zones and are of a different weave to the basic layers. The surface mass of the material in the two lateral zones is at least twice as great as that of the material in the central zone, and has at least double the breaking load, i.e. about 200 N in lengthwise and transverse directions. In addition, the central zone is covered with a bioresorbable material on at least one surface. Prosthetic supports (4) with ends (5) of the required shape can be cut from the strip.
