Downstream to this, a channel (2) reduces mass flow rate in the sectional flow. A means (3) of expansion expands the sectional flow according to volume. An independent claim is also included for a method for protecting a hot-gas/gas-pressure-sensitive element in a heavy-duty circuit breaker from a flow of hot gas.
