Ocean City Coastal Waves Program observations for Station PILOT from 1979-01-01 to 1983-06-01 (NCEI Accession 8400108)

Observations were made by a Datawell Waverider buoy and were transmitted via VHF radio link (line of sight) to shore facilities. The location of the site for station PILOT is 38°12.0' N, 74°58.1' W (near Ocean City, Maryland, U.S.A.). Data has been processed by NODC to the NODC standard NOS Coastal Wave (F182) format. The F182 Wave Data Format has been designed for NOS analyzed wave data originating from the NOS Coastal Wave Program. The format consists of 3 record types, record type A describes the basic environmental information to understand the data record, and record types B and C are used to report wave energy spectral values and Waverider data respectively.
