Monthly NDVI and Pixel Reliability Scores for MODIS Imagery of 12 Months Prior and 12 Months Post Wildland Fire Event for the Islands of Guam, Yap and Palau from 2016 to 2020

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: August 06, 2025 | Last Modified: 20250521
These data provide monthly NDVI and pixel reliability values from MODIS imagery for 12-months prior to and 12-months following wildland fire occurrences on each island. Burned areas were derived from higher resolution imagery (eg. MAXAR) and burned pixels (250m resolution) were defined as those for which burned areas intersected with 25% or more of each MODIS pixel (indicated by “coverage_fraction”). “Prop_forest_cov” and “prop_savannas_cov” provide the proportion of forest and savanna cover within each MODIS pixel derived from the 2013 LANDFIRE Existing Vegetation Type product
