Mayors Challenge: Biobot Pilot (2018)

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;line-height:normal"><span style='font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Segoe UI", sans-serif;'>In 2017, Cary saw a 40% increase in fatal overdoses and a 135% increase in non-fatal overdoses. To address this, The Town undertook an innovative approach, partnering with <i>Biobot Analytics</i>, to help gather opioid consumption data by helping install and operate wastewater sampling devices in 10 sample sites within Cary’s wastewater collection system. This were monitored monthly by measuring concentrations of opioid metabolites in sewage.
