Juvenile Detention and Correctional Facility Census, 1973
This survey provides information on the characteristics and
administration of juvenile detention and correctional facilities. Six
types of facilities are covered in this study: (1) detention centers,
(2) shelters, (3) reception or diagnostic centers, (4) ranches,
forestry camps, and farms, (5) halfway houses and group homes, and (6)
training schools. Survey items include facility capacity, number of
full-and part-time staff, number of admissions and discharges, average
quarterly population, and expenditures by the facility. Data for
facility residents include age and sex, and average length of stay.
