Imagery data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Tonto National Monument

Published by National Park Service | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: June 25, 2025 | Last Modified: 2004-04-28
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. The ortho imagery used during mapping at Tonto NM was created from a set of nine color contact prints flown on April 28, 2004. The images were taken by D. Major of Cooper Aerial Surveys of Tucson. The final mosaicked image was created by IntraSearch Inc. Colorado, using 1-meter USGS DOQQ data and USGS 10-meter DEM data to produce a final orthorectified image output of 0.6-m resolution. The reported scale for all images is 1:10,000. All information on processing reported here was taken from the metadata associated with the color mosaicked image. Scanned images were orthorectified in PCI Geomatics OrthoEngine 7 (www.pcigeomatics.com) using a cubic convolution method, with approximately nine ground control points per scan. Accuracy was assessed by overlaying the image onto original DOQQ data in ArcView 3.3.
