Imagery data for the Vegetation Mapping Inventory Project of Natchez Trace Parkway

Published by National Park Service | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: June 25, 2025 | Last Modified: 2011-10-01
This reference contains the imagery data used in the completion of the baseline vegetation inventory project for the NPS park unit. Orthophotos, raw imagery, and scanned aerial photos are common files held here. The aerial imagery mission captured 849 images with 25 flight lines and covered the entire Parkway with a minimum 100 m buffer beyond the Parkway boundary. The northern reach of imagery consists of flight lines 1–16 and the southern reach consists of flight lines 16–25. Flight line 16 was captured during both the October and November aerial missions. The extent of flight line 16 is between mileposts 182 and 213. This overlap helped the image interpreters adjust their interpretation of hardwood forest types by comparing leaf phenology between the two flight lines.
