This dataset contains daily measurements of bottom pressure and round-trip acoustic travel time from three pressure-equipped inverted echo sounder (PIES) moorings deployed in the southwest South Atlantic Ocean from 2016-10-24 to 2019-06-26 as part of the Southwest Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (SAM) Project. The SAM Project is funded by the NOAA Ocean Observing and Monitoring Division and by the NOAA Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory. Both the processed daily records and the raw hourly measurements are included. The three PIES in this dataset were deployed at the following nominal locations - Site A: 51deg 30min W, 34deg 30min S Site C: 47deg 30min W, 34deg 30min S Site D: 44deg 30min W, 34deg 30min S The PIES mooring at Site D was recovered in 2018; the PIES moorings at Sites A and C were recovered in 2019. The metadata on the nominal locations and other details of the observing array are the same as for accession 0125596. Data from previous deployments are contained in accessions 0125596 and 0175745. Data are in ASCII format.
