Hydraulic model calibration equations for the Wallens Bend reach of the Clinch River, near Kyles Ford, Tennessee

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: July 15, 2025 | Last Modified: 20241021
This dataset includes the Manning's roughness (Manning's n) and upstream water-surface elevation calibration equations for the Wallens Bend (WB) reach on the Clinch River near Kyles Ford, Tennessee, based on discharge and water-surface elevation data collected between April 14, 2021 and September 8, 2021. Discharge measurements were collected by USGS staff from the Columbia Environmental Research Center using an acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) and Real Time Kinematic Global Navigation Satellite Systems (RTK GNSS) positioning. Calibration was performed to produce optimal values of downstream water-surface slope and Manning's roughness (Manning's n) for a one-dimensional hydraulic model of the WB reach.
