Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: September 05, 2025 | Last Modified: 20250505
Low-altitude aerial images were obtained by Elevated Media Concepts LLC from small unmanned aerial systems (UAS), over historic Ellicott City on June 18, 2018 after major flooding events. These images were collected to document and monitor effects of flooding, including property damage in Ellicott City, Maryland. Some photographs contain temporary black and white targets used as ground control points (GCP's), which were surveyed by a field crew with a high-precision Real Time Kinematic Global Position System. This data release includes a Comma Separated Values (CSV) file with the target positions in Maryland State Plane Coordinate system referenced to the North American Datum of 1983 used as ground control points.
