This data collection uses a Geographic Information System (GIS) to organize and characterize information about benthic communities and substrates, which are ecological environments of the sea floor. The communities in this data collection include coral, seagrass, bare bottom, hard bottom, tidal flat, saltmarsh, and halophila communities. This coverage shows benthic distributions of various organisms for the benthic communities of the Florida Panhandle during the time period between 1970 and 1985.
