Fish community data for rivers and streams in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has regularly collected fish community data from wadable streams in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, beginning with the first recorded sample in 1993 and continuing through 2024. These data were collected via electrofishing and seining (in accordance with standard USGS protocols), with the intent of monitoring fish communities and water quality in the area. Data provided here include fish abundance data, as well as stream characteristics required for the calculation of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources fish Index of Biological Integrity (IBI) metrics.
