Final Land Cover Map raster - Land Cover Mapping, North Slope of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Alaska, 2019
ABR Inc.—Environmental Research and Services (ABR) produced a land cover map of the north slope of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) using a classification of satellite imagery that was informed by existing, ancillary field data; new field data collected in 2019; and other relevant spatial data products. The map provides land cover and vegetation information useful for making resource management decisions, including the identification of wildlife habitat types and their distribution and extent. We designed the classification to dovetail with the U.S. National Vegetation Classification (USNVC 2019) and with other land cover maps produced recently for Alaska’s North Slope and Brooks Range regions.
