The population estimate for the western Yukon Flats in Game Management Unit (GMU) 25D (2,269 square miles) was 670 moose with a certainty of+/- 24% at the 90% confidence level. The density estimate was .30 moose per square mile. Estimated bull:cow, yearling bull:cow, and calf: cow ratios for the survey area were 72:100, 10:100, and 21:100, respectively. Estimated proportions of bulls, cows, and calves were .3 7, .52, and .11, respectively. Search times averaged 5.5 minutes per square mile.
