Coral Reef Benthic BCG Narrative Model dataset
The dataset contains the responses and rating from coral reef experts who served on a panel to develop a numeric model for the biological condition gradient (BCG). The BCG is a tool to assess the condition of coral reefs. Experts were provided workbooks containing a suite of condition metrics for coral and other benthic assemblages to evaluate. This data set contains the records for the BCG level ranked condition for each site rated by each expert. It also includes an explanation of each experts logic for their assigned score. Median scores for each site were calculated from all experts scores and assigned as the final site score. The experts narrative logic and median scores were used to develop numeric decision rules with threshold values between the levels for the coral reef BCG model.
