Conversion factors between eBird observation days and total birding days by state for the Southeast (2011)
Recreational birding is a popular activity in the United States. To assess the spatial distribution of recreational birding activity in the southeastern U.S., we used eBird observations (a citizen science dataset showing where birding activity occurs) and total bird activity estimates from the National Survey for Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife-Associated Recreation. This spreadsheet provides the total number of eBird observations and birding days from NSFHWAR for each state in the study area, and the conversion factors used to convert from eBird observations to birding days.
