Published by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service | Department of the Interior | Metadata Last Checked: June 25, 2025 | Last Modified: 2025-04-14
Collection of tabular data sets (.csv) containing year-specific proposed sampling points within inland waterbodies of the Anchorage, Alaska municipality. In 2023 and 2024, proposed sample sites were created using ArcGIS tool developed by and detailed in the Fulkerson 2023 SOP 1 using waterbody boundaries defined by NHD Plus data. In future years, sample points are selected using NHD Plus waterbody boundaries, dropping grids over the waterbody (50 meter cell sizes for lake boundaies less than 3 kilometers; otherwise 100 meters), and selecting random sites within the littoral zone. Litorral zones are defined by creating a 150 meter buffer from the lake boundary and any depths less than 30 feet as designated by lake bathymetry layers.
