This report uses 2009 to 2011 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) to assess reasons for not receiving mental health services among adults aged 18 or older with an unmet need for mental health care. Reasons for not getting care included cost/insurance, low perceived need; structural barriers; stigma; and thinking services would not help. Results are shown by age group.
